By Staff Reports | Fri, 04/08/2011 - 9:19am
APEX, NC — Proceeds from the annual Realty World on Salem St. fundraiser will be donated to The Healing Place of Wake County, a nonprofit emergency shelter and recovery program.
In its second year, the event will be held Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say the fundraiser includes bingo, a buffet dinner – courtesy of Catering by Design, and “celebrity guests.”
“This was such a wonderful and fun event last year and Kimberly and her staff are making sure this year’s event will be even better”, Barrett Joyner, Development Director at The Healing Place said.
Kimberly Sands of Realty World on Salem Street is coordinating the event and RSVPs can be sent to her at kim kimberlysands [dot] com.
According to The Healing Place -- a recovery and rehabilitation facility for homeless people with alcohol and other drug dependency -- they have provided more than 500,000 beds of shelter and days of recovery to homeless men and women at a cost of less than $30 per client per day. One year after program completion, more than 65% of the graduates from the program are still sober.
